SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - They're overcoming the odds and having a little fun in the process.
Whizzing around Forsyth Park Thursday was a visually impaired man finding a new way to see the sights of historic Savannah.
David Newman was trying out a Segway for the very first time. Segway of Savannah made it all possible for him along with the Savannah Association for the Blind. It has been a fun new experience that everyone enjoyed.
"I can definitely say it's fun! Actually, it gives more mobility to people, not just who are visually impaired, but for those who are handicapped, who can't walk very far. It's good for them," said David Newman.
David can't take one home and isn't allowed to go into the streets,
but he hopes to get another opportunity for a test drive soon.
